Is this thing on? I know it's been a VERY long time since I posted anything here......almost two years, in fact! The last 18 months have been (and continue to be!) a very trying time for me, and I lost the creative drive for a good long while. But the good news is that I'm back with a new mix for all of you to listen to!
This mix isn't as terribly complicated or technical as the one I posted two XMases ago, and the musical structure is kind of all over the place. It was mostly just about putting together some songs that I like and trying to blend them together as smoothly as possible with a minimum of fuss.
You'll hear tracks & remixes from DJ Shadow, High Contrast, Ian Brown, Amon Tobin......just to name a few. I even kicked things off with a track from the incomparable Shirley Bassey! I think you'll all enjoy it quite a bit......
I hope I haven't disappointed too many of you for having been gone for so long, but now that I'm back I hope to stay as productive as I possibly can. And if you're just now checking out my stuff, I invite you to check out my previous work!
Thanks again for listening, and I'll talk to you again soon.....Episode 5 - Persistence Pays Off

Hello once again, everybody! It's your friendly neighbourhood DJ back at last with another new mix for you to enjoy!
The reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated, as I have been spending the better part of the last eight months working on this mix. And while it's not quite as polished is some places as I would have preferred, it's come out well enough that I feel comfortable sharing it with you all.
Got some old stuff on here that you'll recognize as having been used in earlier mixes, but I've done my best to change how everything sounds by blending them with tracks you won't have heard me play before. Even if I'm procrastinating on my actual recording, I'm always experimenting with new things.
Gonna get right back on the horse now that I've got this mix finished......got two other mixes in the hopper, as well as my first new episode of Ramsgate Radio in over a year! I should have that one ready early in 2011, but for now I want you to get up out of your chair, put on your dancing shoes and get moving!
With music from Krafty Kuts, Freeland, Meat Katie, remixes by False Prophet & General MIDI AND the debut single from Underworld's newest LP 'Barking', this mix is perfect for those of you who might be getting sick of hearing nothing but XMas music on the radio......
Thanks again for all of your support! I promise that 2011 shall be a much more productive year in terms of output......consider it my New Year's Resolution! Enjoy the new mix, and I'll see you all again very soon!Episode 4 - For Your Ears Only

It's been a long time coming, but I'm finally back with a brand-new DJ mix for you to enjoy!
While I've actually been working on about three different DJ sets over the last 8 months, this mix was put together in the span of about a week for a very good friend of mine over on the Rooster Teeth community site. I previewed it for her a couple days ago, and she gave it the thumbs up......so here it is!
Some of the tracks will no doubt be familiar to you, but I've tried to put them together with different mixes from previous outings so that things will seem fresh and exciting!
I thank you all for having waited so patiently for new content......things have transpired to the point where there should be a deluge of new DJ mixes and podcasts in the coming months, and I hope you'll enjoy listening to it as much as I have putting it together!
Many thanks and much respect from your friendly neighbourhood DJ,

Hello there, everybody! It's your friendly neighbourhood DJ back with another installment in my Razor's Edge series of DJ mixes.
This mix was originally recorded for a little mail-out promotion that I did for all my friends over on the Rooster Teeth community site. I did one last year and got about thirty-five requests, and this year's promo saw me mail out over fifty of them!
Sadly, the promotion did not go as smoothly as I had hoped. Broken discs, lost and/or misdirected mail and replacement orders were some of the problems I ran into, and as a result I've lost a considerable amount of faith in the postal service, hence the reason for the title I've chosen.
Fortunately, the mix came off rather well......aside from a couple of instances where the mix seemed to slip out of time, that is. But the ones that worked did so rather well, and I'm ultimately quite pleased with it as a whole. The mix starts off on a hip-hop vibe, then transitions into some progressive trance and main room techno.
Nearer to the end, I bring in a few different varieties of house music, and finish things off with a little indie rock. Suffice it to say, I was quite surprised at my decision to stray away from my usual comfort zone of breakbeat, but I feel the mix is much better off for it as a result. And I hope you all enjoy it as well!
Thanks again for listening and for lending me your support in 2009......I will do my very best to return the favour ten-fold in 2010!

Hello, everybody! It's DJ raz0rblade back with another installment in my Razor's Edge series of DJ mixes!
This one is another favourite of mine, mainly on account of how quickly everything came together. I took me less than two weeks to come up with a suitable tracklist, work out the details and record it. Aside from a couple of small gaffes here and there, it came out sounding great!
I call it 'Equipment Smarter Than Operator' on account of my mixer must have developed a mind of its own for this project......I usually spend months working on something before I'm satisfied with it, and the fact that I put this together in a fraction of the time makes me think that I might have been getting some help from the ghost in the machine, such as it is.
You'll also notice a lot more vocals in this mix. A few of my friends who heard 'Welcome To The Edge' when I recorded it last year said they enjoyed it quite a bit, but wanted to hear some more stuff that you could sing along to. A daunting challenge, especially when you consider how much I love my instrumentals......but one that I was more than happy to undertake!
So have a listen, enjoy the tunes and tell me what you think! Thanks again for the support......
